ABOUT DR. NAKEEMA STEFFLBAUER

Dr. Nakeema Stefflbauer holds MA and PhD degrees from Harvard University, a BA from Brown University, and an executive MBA from the disruptive Quantic School of Business and Technology. Her focus on strategies for positive impact of “AI” or algorithmic decision-making technologies adds to her experience leading commercial IT product development teams in eLearning, eCommerce, ERP and insurtech. As a tech investor, she invests in scalable software companies that solve real problems in responsible, transparent and ESG-compliant ways.

AFFILIATIONS

An alumna of Brown & Harvard Universities, Included VC and the Baltic Sandbox Angel investment program, Dr. Stefflbauer has established relationships with members of the EU Parliament and the European Digital Rights Initiative (EDRi).She currently sits on the extended Board of the German Startups Association, is a stakeholder Advisory Board Member of the Dutch Public Values in the Algorithmic Society (ALGOSOC) project, is a program affiliate of the Edinburgh Futures Institute and has guest lectured on global AI Ethics at Stanford University.

ACCOLADES

Named one of Female One Zero’s “Changemakers: 10 Women Who Make A Difference”, Dr. Stefflbauer’s technology career began after a lengthy period of research in North Africa and the Middle East on social and economic aspects of migration, informal labor and black-market trade. After stints at the American University in Cairo, the American University of Beirut, and French and US research institutes in Syria and in the Maghreb, Dr. Stefflbauer turned to leading digital transformation programs for clients such as the New York Stock Exchange, NYMEX, New York University and Fidelity Investments.

Most recently, she was profiled by MIT Technology Review for the NGO she founded in Germany, FrauenLoop.
